Wheels in Motion: Our First Electric Trucks Hit the Road in NYC

Kindly reposted from the Frito-Lay Snack Chat Blog. Today, Frito-Lay North America put our wheels in motion for a more environmentally-friendly fleet: Five electric-powered delivery trucks hit New York City and will start servicing Frito-Lay routes this month. In total, we plan to put 21 electric trucks on U.S. streets in 2010 (additional trucks will be in Fort Worth, Texas and Columbus, Ohio). And, we plan to roll out 150 additional electric trucks in 2011, making Frito-Lay the largest commercial fleet of all-electric trucks in North America! Last summer, we announced our relationship with Smith Electric Vehicles, the nation’s top manufacturer of battery-electric commercial trucks and producer of the Newton, which is the only all-electric commercial truck on the market. PBC at Lift for Life Academy

On Saturday, September 25th, 2010 more than 90 volunteers, including employees from PBC and Frito-Lay (and their families), came out to the Lift for Life Academy in the Soulard neighborhood to revitalize the outdoor space at this charter school. Not only was the school’s space revitalized, but we feel that the... Read more

http://www.recruiterguy.net/general/the-possibilities.html Kindly reposted from The RecruiterGuy aka: Chris Hoyt. For more on Chris and Social Recruiting follow his blog here and @therecruiterguy. I knew when I joined the PepsiCo family to lead the recruitment marketing efforts I would be expected to work closely with teams around the globe to help recruiters be successful.  I knew in this newly created role that innovation and “best in class” effort would be the minimum expectation.  I knew that the possibilities related to what I was being asked to be a part of were potentially unlimited. What I didn’t realize was just how turbo-charged and ‘infinite’ those possibilities would be. Oh, I was a believer that things would move quickly and I’d be tasked with helping to drive a new focus but I was a whole 2 weeks into my new job when it began to sink in…  The level of ambition shared with me when I was being...
