First things first: San Diego is gorgeous! Second thing: BlogHer was a blast.
For the third consecutive year, PepsiCo sponsored BlogHer, an annual gathering that this year is bringing together 3,600 digitally savvy women (and several brave guys) to celebrate and share their collectiveness fabulousness and growing influence on consumer goods and buying habits. I was lucky to be along for the ride, penning posts like this and recapping the highlights for the PepsiCo folks at home.
It takes a small army (again mostly women, by the way) to pull off an event like this, and let me tell you, these people know what they’re doing. PepsiCo was everywhere at BlogHer, with hubs for the PepsiCo Women’s Inspiration Network (WIN) and Trop50, Quaker and Gatorade next to registration, PepsiCo electronic screens throughout the convention center, and the piece de resistance, the PepsiCo Promenade front and center in the expo hall.
The PepsiCo Promenade was an interactive 3D space showcasing many of the 15 PepsiCo brands featured at BlogHer, including Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay, Sierra Mist Natural, Diet Pepsi, Starbucks Mocha Light Frappuccino and 100% Natural Lipton Iced Tea. A pathway led bloggers through the space, where they promenade through an orange grove and garden that feature the raw ingredients like oranges, potatoes and oats used in PepsiCo products. Of course, promenaders also got to sample many of the goodies!
Another fan favorite at the PepsiCo Promenade was the 6-foot-tall Diet Pepsi stiletto installation, created for NY Fashion Week by fashion commentator Simon Doonan. Most oft repeated comment: “Does Lady Gaga know about this?”
BlogHer was in full swing through August 6 and was truly a blast!
