7 days are gone now, and I am totally overwhelmed with all kind of emotions. I am tired and happy, thankful and sad, thoughtful and smiling…

4 things impressed me in the pictures we took and in the notes I wrote so far:

Women, key pillar of Ghanaian society.

Children, smiling and running.

Music and Faith, what these guys are teaching us.

Generosity, which kills me as it is difficult to accept something from someone that does not even have the necessary….

We started our visits to the communities in the south region.

Women are amazing: they walk kilometres to get water from wells, lagoons or rivers; they go to the market to sell vegetables; they work the crops, they cook, they look after the children, they wash clothes… and they carry enormous weight on their head and a kid on their back. We talked with them and ask about the challenges they face, the aspirations they have and we have been bemused by the fact that despite all they look at the future with the eyes of every mum. They hope their children will grow healthy, they would like to see them married and with children.

They do not complain, they pray…
