Pepsi’s City Year Partnership

On a rainy Friday morning, I was brought to immediate attention by the sounds of hundreds of City Year members shouting, “Good Morning, New York!” The City Year Opening Day on Oct. 1 was both an exhilarating and inspiring event. It was a celebration for hundreds of new City Year members about their commitment to serve in a New York City public school. Wearing their signature red jackets, khaki pants and Timberland boots, the new corp members shared their stories about why they were there that morning and why they were committing a full year of their lives to serving inner city kids when they could be embracing many other opportunities.
