Kannan Hariharan

Kannan has more than 25 years of rich and varied HR experience, of which the last 14 years have been with PepsiCo. Kannan is currently the HR Director for Viet Nam since August 2008. Prior to his current role, he has consistently progressed through positions and critical experiences in India BU such as Human Resource Manager – Bangalore Unit, and Senior HRM for the India Beverage South Market Unit. Kannan has experience in the HR generalist function in different industries – Manufacturing, Service and start-ups in India. Prior to PepsiCo, Kannan used to work for Sterling Holiday Resorts as Divisional Manager. Before that , he was Deputy Manager –at Parry Confectionary, Asst Manager – HR at Indo Matsushita Appliances and Senior Officer – Personnel and Administration at Goodlass Nerolac paints. Kannan has bachelor degree in English from Madras Christian College and Hons. Degree in Personnel Management from Madras school of Social work. Kannan is 2 times recipient of the prestigious PepsiCo Chairman’s Award. In 2004 for the Harvey C Russell Inclusion Award and again in 2006 for the India BU CSR work. He is also the recipient of Asia President Above & Beyond Award for his CSR work in 2005 and Asia Region HR Star Award in 2007. Kannan is keenly interested in CSR initiatives and developing young Talent at the grass root level and is actively involved with NGO’s in India. Kannan is married and has 2 daughters age 19 and 16. When not at work he spends rest of the time with his family.
