PBC at Lift for Life Academy
On Saturday, September 25th, 2010 more than 90 volunteers, including employees from PBC and Frito-Lay (and their families), came out to the Lift for Life Academy in the Soulard neighborhood to revitalize the outdoor space at this charter school. Lift for Life Academy is an independent charter school in the city of St. Louis dedicated to providing a creative and motivating alternative to public middle and high schools. On Saturday morning, the outdoor space was nothing more than dirt, rocks and weeds. By the end of the day, PepsiCo volunteers had laid sod and mulch, planted bushes, trees and flowers, and built benches and picnic tables – among many other projects – to truly transform this space into an outdoor classroom and sanctuary for the students at Lift for Life Academy.
