BlogWorld 2010
I had the opportunity to attend this year’s BlogWorld Conference in Las Vegas. It was my first time attending the conference, and I found it to be a rewarding experience. The crowd somewhat surprised me. I was expecting a majority of attendees to be young millennials. Instead, I saw a mix of people of all ages and life stages. A majority of attendees maintained their own blogs. Some attendees had more Twitter followers than the populations of some small Caribbean Islands. Can you imagine one person reaching out to 10,000 to 50,000 people instantly? This really brought home how expansive and influential the social community can be. What was even more interesting was seeing people who had exchanged notes and “Tweets” for several years without ever meeting live, finally getting to see their virtual friends face to face.
